Tall Orthoceras fossil tower, large fossil cephalopod

Tall Orthoceras tower specimen from Morocco, with a flat bottom so it will stand on its own. There are several fossils clearly visible on this piece, it’s quite nice!

As seen in these pictures, Orthoceras fossils are often found in a black limestone matrix, with the soft tissues of the ancient squid-like creature replaced with calcite.

The one pictured is exactly the specimen you will receive. It is about 12+” tall and weighs just over 7.25 lbs!
