Rock Candle, whole Ammonite fossil

A beautiful, one-of-a-kind Rock Candle made from a whole ammonite fossil that has been carved out to expose the calcification in all of its chambers and then highly polished.

To make this into a candle, we carefully drilled a hole in the fossil, treated all of the surfaces to prevent oil from damaging the specimen, and then permanently mounted a glass bowl underneath to hold lamp oil of your choosing.

As you can see, the result is really a great rock oil candle. A perfect addition to your home or a unique gift for the rock lover or candle lover on your shopping list. Look how the flame reflects of off the surface!
