Knightia fossil fish plaque
Fossil fish from the Green River formation in SW Wyoming.
As can be seen in the photos, these are well preserved fossils with much of the bone structures still in place.
The knightia was a fresh water fish similar to today’s herring or sardine. It thrived in the Eocene epoch, about 50 million years ago in the Green River area of Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. This piece comes from Wyoming.
The metal stand seen in the photos is included so it can be a welcome addition to anyone's home or collection.
See the photos for the actual dimensions (6.5”x7.5”) of this beautiful piece. It’s weight is just over 2 lbs!
