Amazonite and Smoky Quartz

This is a classic Colorado Amazonite crystal cluster smoky quartz in the feldspar matrix in which it was mined.

Amazonite is a variety of microcline feldspar that is believed to get its beautiful blue-green color from lead and water mixed in the feldspar. This piece was mined at a private claim in Park County Colorado.
